Description

The REC is currently looking for a Campaign Coordinator to support REC activities connected to project activities of The Climate Reality Project, European Branch. This position will provide an opportunity to gain knowledge of and experience in managing an influential international initiative on climate change. The campaign coordinator will be based at the REC’s head office in Szentendre, Hungary.

 

Main tasks

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging and supporting the network of Climate Reality Leaders
  • Organising activities in cooperation with other REC units
  • Supporting social media activities and outreach
  • Contributing to database development
  • Preparing reports
  • Assisting in developing publications
  • Assisting in planning and implementing new initiatives
  • Providing day-to-day support in managing activities

 

Experience required

  • Experience in the field of climate change and/or campaign management (1–3 years)
  • Project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly within strict timeframes and to high standards
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely in the English language
  • Experience with social media and event management
  • Excellent written and spoken English (fluency in other European languages is an asset)
  • Familiarity with the Climate Reality Project is a strong asset; Climate Reality Leaders are preferred.
  • The availability to start employment in the very near future is a plus.

 

Education required

  • University degree (BA or MA) in the field of climate change, international policy or another similar discipline. A degree or previous studies in the environmental field is an advantage.

 

Terms of employment

This full-time position is based at the REC head office in Szentendre, Hungary. The position is for a fixed period ends on December 31, 2016, with the possibility of extension. The gross base salary is EUR 1,000 per month.
