IMPORTANT:  This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders.  Other applicants need not apply.

 

The Preserve Management Assistant will travel throughout the Prairie Forest Border Ecoregion in central and southeast Minnesota participating in preserve management activities which may include some or all of the following functions: 

  • Maintain preserve areas frequented by the visiting public
  • Remove exotic species and/or species monitoring (including use of herbicides)
  • Prescribed burn preparation, implementation, and post-burn monitoring
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Brush and tree removal
  • Seed harvest
  • Photo and vegetation monitoring
  • Other preserve management activities

All TNC staff actively participating on a prescribed burn must be qualified as a FFT2. The Preserve Management Assistant will participate in prescribed burns, preparing fire lines, maintaining equipment, post-burn monitoring and other tasks.

 This is a short-term position from April 2 through June 15, 2012.
