This is an introductory course looking at the British amphibians and will include identification, how to carry out surveys and the laws regulating their protection. Field sessions will involve a variety of surveying techniques at several sites and close examination of a number of British amphibian species. The evening session (19.00 - 20.30) is optional (highly recommended); those wishing to attend please bring your own torch. An Advanced British Amphibian course is available on 16 Mar 2014.
This British Amphibian course runs from 13:15 to 20:30. The course price includes dinner at a local public house and a FSC guide Reptiles and Amphibians of Britain and Ireland.
