37.5 hours per week – Full-time permanent

Wiltshire and Swindon Biological Records Centre (WSBRC) promotes and supports high quality biological recording and monitoring and is part of a national network of local environmental records centres.  WSBRC is hosted by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust at its head office in Devizes.

We gather, manage, interpret and disseminate a wide range of biological and geological information for use by key decision makers and land managers. We support local and national recording groups, schemes and individuals.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a particular interest in survey and recording to join our team in a position which delivers our core activities and will enable them the opportunity to develop their database, GIS and biological recording skills.

The post-holder will be responsible for servicing data enquiries from a range of users, from initial contact through to delivery and invoicing. They will have a key responsibility for digitising and processing incoming data and overseeing data entry volunteers.  They will also assist in accessing new datasets and promoting biological recording and the work of WSBRC. Within the team, they will provide front line support to customers, partners and the wider biological recording community.

Candidates will have a systematic and methodical approach, be quick to learn and have the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively. Adaptability and flexibility of approach is essential in this role as is excellent attention to detail. Experience of working with volunteers and engaging with the public is desirable and they must be comfortable working closely with colleagues as part of a small team.
