Description:
Responsible for the preliminary health checks of all animals coming into the AWRC and for providing optimal preventive veterinary care and veterinary care to the animals at the centre. He/She will maintain the AWRC hospital and quarantine centre and will work closely with the AWRC Director to ensure that the living conditions and husbandry practices are, at all times, optimal for the health and well-being of the animals. He/She will also assist in the supervision of volunteer and educational activities on a daily basis. Qualifications: Minimum degree in veterinary science. At least 2 years experience in hands-on animal care. Hands-on experience with wild animals an advantage. Experience in public-speaking helpful. Interpersonal Skills: Flexibility and ability to adapt to challenging situations, hard-working and self-motivated, fair and consistent, excellent communication through both verbal and written skills, excellent organisational skills; empathy for animal welfare and wildlife conservation. Term: 3 years minimum, 6 years preferred. Salary: Negotiable |
