Description

Position Summary:

The Assistant will provide support to the Claims, Traceability & Trademarks (CTT) unit, which is responsible for helping to ensure that entities using the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ (RAC) seal on packaging and marketing materials for agricultural products are in compliance with the Rainforest Alliance Trademarks Guidelines and related policies such as licensing, traceability and chain of custody. The Assistant will process artwork submissions in English and other European languages, and will provide administrative and customer service support as described below.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to general inquiries from European companies regarding compliance with CTT policies;
  • Process and review materials submitted by participating companies in Europe and other regions as needed, provide recommendations for edits, and check their compliance with traceability and chain of custody policies as well as the criteria in the Rainforest Alliance Trademarks Guidelines;
  • Review and respond to license agreement requests in Europe;
  • Maintain records of registered companies’ packaging and other materials using the RAC seal, their public communications about the Rainforest Alliance and their traceability;
  • Support the drafting of periodic reports and updates to keep internal teams abreast of new marketing campaigns and product launches; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University degree preferred, preferably in business, marketing, language studies or communications;
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional office environment;
  • Understanding and experience of sustainability and certification programs highly desired;
  • Strong written and spoken English required; fluency in French, German or other European languages preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organization skills and ability to handle multiple priorities;
  • Ability to work with limited supervision as part of a multi-national team;
  • A passion for sustainability and the environment, and a strong commitment to the mission of the Rainforest Alliance;
  • Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Internet); and
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally.
