(single status including salary + allowances and housing)

Do you have a passion for conservation and the outdoors? We are looking for someone to take on the role of Assistant Park Warden.  You will work with the Park Warden to maintain and enhance Green Mountain National Park for the benefit of the people living on Ascension and the wildlife found there.  You will also have a role in the maintenance of six nature reserves around Ascension and assist with the monitoring and safeguarding of the island’s unique biodiversity.

The successful applicant will need to be capable of working autonomously as well as part of the wider Conservation Team to deliver an ambitious programme of practical site management.  In addition, you will need to have good interpersonal skills that allow you to work well as a team, lead groups of volunteers and participate in public engagement events. You will also need to have a high level of physical fitness and enjoy working outside for long hours in often difficult conditions.

We are offering a two-year, single status contract. In addition to the annual salary of £9,450 per year (taxable in Ascension) the position attracts the following benefits and allowances:

  • Free primary dental and medical care
  • Free annual travel insurance
  • A gratuity payable on the successful completion of a 2-year contract

The appointment will be subject to:
