Job title: Archaeological Consultant

Rate: £28-32k

Job Summary:

Due to recent successes and strategic growth, our high profile, multi-disciplinary client are seeking an archaeologist to join their environmental planning team.  You will join a team of dedicated specialists including EIA , Landscape, Air Quality, Acousticians, Archaeologists and Ecologists and contribute to EIA and SIA reports.

The Role;

As part of the Archaeology team you will contribute to a diverse range of projects across a number of sectors within the UK and international market for both private and public sector clients. 

You will have the opportunity to undertake desk-based assessments, provide  input to cultural heritage chapters of Environmental Statements and contribute to stand alone archaeological reports.  Some management of archaeological contractors will also be required.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • A Degree in archaeology or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience within a consultancy field
  • Experience of undertaking Archaeological impact assessments including archaeological desk-based assessments
  • A track record of contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • A good working knowledge of British archaeology and field techniques
  • Good knowledge of the UK legislation and planning policy.
  • IfA Membership or equivalent experience as a minimum.
