Apprenticeship in Environmental Conservation

Location: Exeter, Yeovil and Western-Super-Mare

Weekly Hours: part-time (weekly hours depending on location)

Hourly rate: Above national average for an apprenticeship    

Apprenticeship in Environmental Conservation (age group 16 - 18 years) Groundwork South West has several vacancies for young conservation/environmentalist in Exeter, Yeovil and Western-Super-Mare. Apprentices will have the opportunity to learn a variety of practical habitat management skills combined with the corresponding theory. Tasks typically include footpath construction, scrub and woodland management, drainage work, fencing, health and safety plus other opportunities dependent upon the season such as hedgelaying, coppicing and pond management. Working on a variety of wildlife sites, apprentices will gain an NVQ level 2 in Environmental Conservation, Key Skills level 1 (if not already achieved) and Emergency First Aid certificate.
