Purpose:
Under the guidance of the Manager, Animal Rescue-Wildlife Rescue, responsible for the implementation and monitoring of IFAW projects in accordance with the IFAW strategic plan. Specific activities include wildlife rescue efforts and related project management as assigned.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for insuring Wildlife Rescue programs, activities and scheduling of projects meet department objectives.
Maintain oversight of assigned Wildlife Rescue projects and liaise with country office staff to ensure smooth operation of these projects. Monitor grantees and contractors, and daily operations of animal rescue projects.
Responsible for the development and cultivation of relationships and networking within the rehabilitation and sanctuary community, relevant governmental and non governmental authorities, and other stakeholders
Responsible for visits to project sites and timely submission of project status reports and documentation; have the ability to make detailed observations and keep accurate records.
Assist in the development of recommendations for advancement of rehabilitation and sanctuary programs and facilities. Provision of advice, supervision and training in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and sanctuary issues, including development of protocols, best practice etc
Monitor expenditure and track budgets for assigned Animal Rescue projects.
Support IFAW HQ departments (Direct Marketing, Online Campaigns & Marketing, Philanthropy, Finance, Communications, etc.) in achieving IFAW institutional goals through Animal Rescue projects.
Train with Disaster Response team and Marine Mammal team; respond when needed both within the US and internationally
Other relevant duties as assigned
Requirements:
Veterinary degree, or Bachelor's degree in a biological science with wildlife-related coursework preferred. Alternatively, an associate degree in animal science, zoology or conservation biology if the person also has suitable relevant of full-time experience in the field.
At least two years working in a hands-on environment with wild animals, or within the wild animal sanctuary field.
Knowledgeable about the behavior and husbandry standards of large cats in captivity.
Able and willing to travel anywhere in the world on short notice and work long hours while traveling.
Able to work interdependently, optimizing the skills available within the team.
Ability to work with a high level of professionalism; the ability to work both independently or in a team environment,
Excellent research and analytic skills, good judgment and ability to work with animals.
Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. Ability to interact harmoniously and communicate effectively with people both internally and externally from varying educational, social and cultural backgrounds.
