Animal Keeper: Primates (Temporary Contract 6-9 months)

We currently have a vacancy for an animal keeper on the Primates section to cover maternity leave for approximately 6 to 9 months. This section manages all our small primate species including callitrichids, cebids, guenons and lemurs. This is a key role which involves working on the section, covering all areas of animal husbandry including feeding, cleaning, training and record keeping, as well as interacting with the Zoo visitors.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, high performing individual with an interest in zoo animal management. You must be a good team worker with a positive outlook and have excellent communication skills. A minimum of 2 years' zoo keeping experience with primates, and an animal-related qualification, such as the BIAZA approved ANCMZA or DZMAA, would be advantageous.

The role is full time, including weekend duties on a rota system. Salary is paid monthly and we provide uniform, 31 days holiday per annum, 5% employer's pension contribution (after qualifying period).
