Caledonian Conservation Ltd is a young but well-established ecological consultancy based in Central Scotland. £16-18,000 p.a. pro rata starting salary based on 40 hour week (dependent on experience)

Overall Purpose

 

To assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Updating and maintaining accounts records using Sage Instant;
  • Updating and creating spread sheets using MS Excel;
  • Maintaining records, filling systems and electronic files (including scanning paper documents);
  • Provide administrative support for project based works (including preparing field sheets, proofing and formatting reports);
  • Processing correspondence using MS Word;
  • Managing a busy workload to achieve deadlines;
  • Producing high quality work when under pressure;
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers;
  • Answering incoming telephone calls for the team and relaying accurate messages;
  • Meeting and greeting visitors as required;
  • Provide health and safety buddy support for fieldworkers;  and
  • All other general administrative duties as requested by the team as may be required.

 

 

Person Specification

Essential

  • A relevant qualification at HNC or SVQ level 3 or above, or equivalent experience;
  • Experience of Sage Instant
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (including Word and Excel);
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and committed;
  • Passionate and proactive;
  • Experience of working in an administration role;
  • Able to work as part of a team, which may include colleagues from other organisations;
  • Able to work on multiple projects;  and
  • Able to work under own initiative.

                                                  

Desirable

  • Experience of using Microsoft Access;
  • Experience of managing budgets and / or accounts;
  • Experience of working within the environmental / ecological sector;
  • Experience of using Microsoft PowerPoint;
  • Evidence of ability to liaise and work effectively with a range of partners;
  • Interest in wildlife and nature conservation;  and
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
