The Centre de Recherche Public - Gabriel Lippmann, a fast growing public establishment for applied scientific research and technology transfer in Luxembourg, has an opening on fixed-term contract basis for its Department ‘Environment and agro-biotechnologies’ for a researcher in biomethanation (m/f) Duties and responsibilities: He/she will work in a research project aiming at the evaluation of NIR spectrometry to predict the biomethane potentials from agricultural commodities such as maize and new emerging energy crops. The main objective is to develop a rapid and cost effective analytical method based on NIR spectrometry and to set the basis for an on-line monitoring of the anaerobic digestion process using on-board NIR spectrometers. Qualifications: The candidate must hold a degree of engineer in agronomy “bioengineer” with a specialisation in biological processes or in animal nutrition. Experience in anaerobic digestion or in similar biological processes, feed analysis or NIR spectrometry is an advantage. The applicant must show willingness to develop good skills in anaerobic digestion trials, in the use of feed analytical techniques (fibre analysis, NIR spectrometry, dry and organic matter), and in monitoring agronomic trials. He/she has to be motivated and work independently, structured and self-responsible in a young, diversified environmental research department. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team based in Luxembourg and Belgium. Fluent in French (official language) and excellent skills in English (scientific exchanges).
