Grade 4, Senior Project Officer (£24,000 to £29,000) pro rata
1 year contract
Part time (3 days a week)
London SE1

London Wildlife Trust is looking for a motivated and experienced person, with experience of managing urban greenspaces and engaging local communities, to take a lead on ‘A Cool Place to Live’.

‘A Cool Place to Live’ will develop guidance and highlight best practice to ensure the landscapes of social housing can be effectively adapted to the impacts of climate change. The project seeks to influence and support the forward policy and practice of London’s social landlords and their role as the owners and managers of estate landscapes, thereby helping to promote environmental justice for some of the capital’s most disadvantaged residents.

The post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering several elements of ‘A Cool Place to Live’, including research, consultation with partners, and analysis of practice and policy in order to develop an evidenced based set of recommendations for social landlords, in partnership with the Neighbourhoods Green programme.

You will have a proven track record of urban green space design and management, and working collaboratively with community groups. You will be able to collate information and analyse policy and practice to develop guidance that meets the needs of social landlords and their resident communities. Confident in preparation and interpretation of complex information you will also have excellent communication and presentation skills, and an ability to work with a potentially wide range of partners.

Do you have the vision and the commitment that we need?  If so, please download an application pack below.

Email recruitment@wildlondon.org.uk or call 020 7261 0447 with any enquiries.

Closing date for applications 9.30am Wednesday 18th April 2012

Interview to be held on Wednesday 2nd May 2012
