Description

Garama 3C Ltd is offering a new 3-day training course on Climate Change Adaptation and Mainstreaming for Development Professionals.

The next course will run from 8-10 October 2013 and will take place in Norwich, UK.

The cost of participation is £1200 including accommodation (4 nights, with reductions for fewer nights), or £800 without accommodation.

The course is aimed at individuals and institutions working in the field of development, that are in the earlier stages of mainstreaming climate change adaptation into their work. It is relevant to individuals that want to understand mainstreaming processes, tools and approaches, and to institutions that need to develop their own mainstreaming and climate safeguards systems. The course has been designed to give participants the necessary knowledge and skills to play a key role in the development of these systems.

The course will furnish participants with an understanding of existing and emerging methodologies for mainstreaming climate change, including climate change screening, climate risk assessment, the identification and selection of adaptation measures, and the evaluation of adaptation. it will also give them an understanding of the wider scientific, policy and funding contexts for adaptation and mainstreaming.

The course will be repeated several times a year according to demand, and can also be run as a mobile course at clients' institutions.
