AIM                                                                                                          

Participate in a marine science research project with a commercial, social, or cultural relevance. Improve my knowledge on the methods and equipment that I have studied or used during my career path.

EDUCATION 

Bachelor´s Degree in Marine Sciences by the University of Vigo, Spain. 2003-2009. Speciality (last two years): Living resources.                                                                    

Erasmus student at the University of Tromso, Norway. Academic year: 2007/08.

WORK EXPERIENCE 

 In order to finance my education, I have worked in several temporary jobs not related with my field: Topographer assistant in a road construction; Operator in the bottling of Rioja´s wine; Operator in the production of carpenter tools; Assistant in an exposition; Grape picker; etc.

The following have also contributed to my professional development:

-          The experience acquired in the field and laboratory sessions during my university courses: i.e. Cartography of sedimentary structures and beach profiles using the theodolite.

-          Expedition of 6 days to Lofoten, Norway, on the vessel Jan Mayen (University of Tromso). It was measured the primary production of phytoplankton (chlorophyll a; method of Carbon-14), and the density, composition and fecundity of mesozooplankton. April 2008.

-          Project thesis in aquatic ecology: Production and growth of the diatoms  P. Glacialis and C. Socialis, under different regimes of light and temperature. Bioassays were perfomed in order to detect new chemicals in both species. University of Tromso. Spring 2008.

-          Numerous day trips on board of the boat Mytilus (University of Vigo), using technical equipment: CTD rosette with Niskin bottles, Van Been dredge, gravity corer, GPS.

OTHER INFORMATION

-          Scuba diving licence: Open Water Diver, PADI.

-          Very flexible to travel and to change my residence at short notice.  

-          European driver licence.

LANGUAGES

 Cambridge ESOL Level 2 Certificate in English (IELTS). Overall Band Score: 6.5 out of 9 (with no band under 6).  University of Westminster, England. August 2009.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE 

Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access). Internet, E mail. Working experience with Matlab.
